Focus: from the Latin for ‘hearth’. At a studio in Viols le Fort, Dominique Imbert crafted a fireplace for his personal use. Then he repeated the process for those who fell in love with his work. Demand grew. Imbert obliged. This was how Focus began. Since the Gyrofocus in 1968 and the Renzofocus, Stonefocus and Kinéfocus designed in 2006–07, Focus has transformed itself from an artist’s studio to an international business. In 1972 only two models were sold. Current sales exceed 3,500 fireplaces a year. In Australia, Focus products are distributed exclusively by The Good House and can be viewed at 2-4 Cremorne Street, Richmond VIC. The Good House also distribute other quality home finishes such as antique doors and stone fireplaces imported from France. ![]() |
